Plants grow and develop in response to environmental stimuli such as light, temperature, and nutrients. Plant growth is regulated by hormones, which are chemical signaling molecules that control a variety of plant processes. It is an essential process that allows plants to survive and thrive in their natural environment.

One of the key factors that influence plant growth and development is the environment. Plants need specific conditions to grow and develop properly, including the right amount of light, temperature, and nutrients. For example, a plant that is grown in low light conditions may not grow as tall as a plant that is grown in full sunlight. Similarly, a plant that is grown in a warm climate will grow differently than a plant that is grown in a cooler climate.

Another important factor that influences plant growth and development is hormones. Hormones are chemical signaling molecules that are produced by plants and play a crucial role in regulating various plant processes. Different hormones control different aspects of plant growth and development, such as cell division, cell elongation, and the development of flowers and fruits.

Auxin and cytokinin are two hormones that are particularly important for plant growth and development. Auxin promotes cell elongation, which helps plants grow taller. Cytokinin, on the other hand, promotes cell division, which helps plants grow wider. These two hormones work together to regulate plant growth and development.
