This module will introduce and discuss a number of the scientific methods employed in archaeology. None will be discussed in great depth, but you should have a good understanding of how and why we use these methods by the end of the module. Archaeological science is extraordinarily multidisciplinary, drawing on, adapting, and influencing methods throughout purer scientific disciplines. This is particularly the case with biological, environmental, and earth sciences, however this section will explore a wide array of methods closely tied to numerous fields. These examples are not exhaustive, but provide a good array of established, effective methods.
