No subject is integral to studying archaeology and, thanks to the multidisciplinaryDrawing knowledge and methods from multiple academic disciplines. nature of the field, any subject is feasibly useful. This is largely due to the intersection of sciences and humanities used to investigate the past.
Archaeology has adapted, adopted, and developed methods alongside history, classics, physics, biology, and medicine to name just a few. These methods are leveraged to understand the past, shining light onto past people and cultures through the scant remains we have available. Archaeology tries to interpret the past from the few objects that have stood the test of time, and we will use everything at our disposal to understand as much as possible.

Remember that enthusiasm and dedication will serve you best in archaeology, as the core skills and knowledge archaeology requires will be covered during your degree. As long as you have been actively reading and exploring our understanding of the past, that is going to help you immensely.
