1.3.5 River Landscapes

In this lesson, we will explore how the shape of river valleys changes as rivers flow downstream. We will examine the long profile and changing cross profile of a river and its valley. Additionally, we will discuss the fluvial processes of erosion, transportation, and deposition that shape river landscapes, including hydraulic action, abrasion, attrition, solution, vertical and lateral erosion, traction, saltation, suspension, and solution.
