Our Story

Knowness was born out of a question that many learners have quietly asked but few have truly answered:

“Why isn’t there a single platform where you can just learn any subject?”

In 2021, at the height of the global pandemic, Noor Hamadi began working on what would become Knowness. Having also experienced first-hand the challenges students face when deciding what to study or pursue, Noor was familiar with another question that haunts many young learners; one he had asked himself countless times, and watched his friends and classmates struggle with:

“What do I want to study at university?”

He realised that behind both questions lay the same problem: a lack of accessible, engaging, and well-structured learning that helps students both understand their subjects and discover their interests. This inspired Noor to create a platform that would make learning any subject simple, while also guiding students toward confident and informed decisions about their futures.

By 2023, Knowness had grown into a comprehensive learning ecosystem spanning GCSEs, A-Levels, University Tasters, and General Courses, reaching thousands of students across hundreds of schools. Knowness offers courses that not only support school exams but also give students a realistic insight into what studying a subject at university might actually be like, helping to reduce the number of students who later regret their degree choices.

In 2024, Knowness was backed by the University of Birmingham through the Elevate Program’s Startup Incubator and secured its first round of pre-seed funding, enabling accelerated growth, platform innovation, and expanded reach across the UK education sector.

By combining expert-led teaching with evidence-based design, Knowness helps learners truly understand and retain knowledge, not just memorise it.
