    Module Review

In this module, we will dive into the first branch of Philosophy: MetaphysicsA branch of Philosophy that explores the nature of reality. and its fundamental question “What is the nature of reality?”. We will begin by understanding what Metaphysics is and look at some of the key questions considered in Metaphysics.

We will then take a step back in time to meet the Ancient Greeks, including Aristotle, who first introduced the idea of metaphysical thought with their discussions on form.

Moving on to the 18th century, we will look at the work of Immanuel Kant who revolutionised Metaphysics by questioning how perception shapes our understanding of reality. Finally, we will look at how contemporary philosophers such as David Lewis and Thomas Nagel have brought these ideas into the modern age, examining Metaphysics in the light of emerging fields in Science, such as the study of consciousnessThe state of being aware and perceiving the world..

By the end of this module, you’ll have an insight into the field of Metaphysics. Let us begin the questioning!
