5.1 What is a Contract?
A contract is a legal agreement between two or more people or groups that can be enforced by the law. It is an important part of business and other dealings, making sure everyone keeps their promises or faces legal action.

For a contract to be considered valid under English law, the following elements must be proven to exist or have existed:
- Offer
- Acceptance
- Consideration
- Intention to create legal relations
- Certainty and capacity
