Before committing to a life as a lawyer, it is important to consider whether a Law degree is the right choice for you specifically and whether you are interested in taking the steps that are required to undertake this process. We will also explore the basics of a Law degree and what is actually taught at university.

The law is a complicated effort, and requires a high degree of analysis and understanding. Depending on the practice area and whether you are in a contentious or transactional field, a lawyer may be handling incredibly large sums of money or helping defend a person’s freedom in a criminal case.

This module will help you understand how these items are viewed at a theoretical level, with the practical application often being reserved for the Solicitor’s Qualification Exam or the Bar Professional Training Course which are required for a person to qualify as a solicitor or barrister.
