Types of Transportation Systems

Mass transit is a system of transportation that is designed to move large numbers of people. Mass transit systems include buses, trains, and subways. They are typically operated by public agencies and are intended to be efficient, safe, and affordable. They are often used in urban areas to move people quickly and efficiently. Mass transit systems can include light rail, heavy rail, and commuter rail, which are all different types of trains.
Other types of transportation systems include ports, pipelines, and canals. Ports are facilities for the loading and unloading of ships, as well as for the storage and handling of cargo. Pipelines are used for the transportation of oil, natural gas, and other liquids, while canals are used for the transportation of goods and people by boat.
