An architectural portfolio is a key tool for showcasing an architect’s skills, design philosophy, and creative journey. This lesson guides you in creating a compelling portfolio, focusing on structure, selecting work, and presentation. You'll also learn to tailor it for different audiences using graphics, layouts, and 3D rendering techniques.

Structuring a Compelling Portfolio
Figure 57. A well-structured portfolio showcases projects with clear visuals and text, revealing the depth of the design process.

An architectural portfolio should tell a compelling story about your design journey. The structure should be clean, organised, and easy to navigate, allowing the viewer to move through your work seamlessly. Typically, portfolios begin with an introduction, including a personal statement and a brief overview of your architectural interests and design philosophy.

The main body of the portfolio presents a series of projects, each clearly laid out with images, sketches, plans, and descriptions that highlight your design process. It’s important to organise your work in a way that reflects your growth and development as an architect, showcasing both your creative evolution and technical expertise.
